Hey all, bought a Fuel stubby can for my 06 Hornet and only just noticed this today. Will be contacting Fuel to see what they say.

Ouch that looks nasty, i remember that happening on my old scrambler. The exhaust Fried my number plate, exhaust gases are very hot. You'd not think it would do that though. Gave me an excuse for a smaller plate. Hope Fuel can help you with this..

I was just thinking. I may not get anything back from Fuel. They might just say oh well you should have not removed the baffle then. Still, I think they should take some responsibility, after all it comes with a removable baffle and had I known it would damage my bike I would not have bought it. They've not responded yet but we'll see. My poor bike.

I'd say it is hopefully clear cut. If they designed the can specifically for the bike and it did this, then you get refund and compensation. I don't see how the baffle would have affected it much. Wider exhaust flow?

Ouch, Always wondered about high level exhausts and how they manage to not melt plastics......and now I know, they do sometimes
![]() Gutted for you. Sometime withs high levels they state that you need a tailtidy, but this has melted painted plastive aswell :O shocking.

Just spoke to Fuel. They seemed very concerned and hopefully can sort it out for me. Have asked me to get quotes for repair work. Fingers crossed.

Good stuff, they probably wont be happy at it being posted on public forums though.
Probably something I would have done if they had said they were not doing anything lol

Meh. It serves as a warning to anyone thinking of using a stubby can on their Hornet. It's not an unfair post, just an informative warning.
