I know its not for an sv but a suzuki none the less.
my question is where on earth can i get the diodes in the loom from. suzuki have no clue local garage have no clue no where on the net most opinions seem to be they are "part of the loom" so hard to get hold of individually. so should i make my own out of bits from maplin or does anyone know a secret hiding place for these diodes? thanks Brock. |

What are these diodes for? That may help in finding parts.

okay quick run down. it has 2 diodes
1st- 3 pin with current going from both sides to centre. goes from/ to side stand relay then cdi and neutral dash light 2nd - 90 degree 2 pin goes from side stand relay to cdi without these no lights work and bike will not crank but i know everything works as i have tested switches wiring and all connections, and it still sparks and can turn over if bridged across the starter solenoid. |

No help on tracking down diodes I'm afraid, but can you not just bypass it? - I've removed my sidestand switch completely on the track bike. Well, when I say 'I' a garage did it once and I've no idea what they bridged! Sure it's been covered here before though...

You might also be able to pick up a complete wiring loom pretty cheap from a converted track bike...
Quick ebay hunt turns up this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/main-wirin...item1e65ab6dbc

side stand switch is gone but theres a side stand relay which is crucial to the rest of the bike working...lights and everything and once the switch is closed in the relay the cdi gets power and boom it works.
i would bridge the connections but i feel diodes are there to stop power flowing back up the system so there must be a good reason for them. [Edit] thanks daves but im after dr350 parts not sv650 should have said this earlier i thinks :S also they dont show up on wiring diagrams or micro fisch's Last edited by BBadger; 22-08-11 at 10:51 AM. |

How similar is the wiring with the DR to the SV's?
Could be worth firing SV650 Racer a PM

dr is the most stupid system ever created! everything is interlinked so wont work without the other being perfect, so teating requires the loom stripped grrrr
already taken down to steve jordan and they dont have them but hopefully should be getteing a call back today once they've got onto suzuki gb. and if i can do nout else ill make my own and then hunt for people breaking a bike. |
