Default Need rear tyre soon - What to buy and where please

I'm after some help please.

I have approx 5,400 mls on my rear tyre and the wear bands are nearing the top of the tyre, although there still seems to be plenty of tred left - umm - so I'm after recommendations for the best price and service in and around Yorkshire for some new tyres please. It will have to be ride in and ride out.

Suzuki SV650
Front Tyre 120/60 ZR17
Rear Tyre 160/60 ZR17

The tyres I have are the standard Dunlop ones, which I have been told arent the best. I want something to last, do a good job but not expensive.

All help is appreciated.

What kind of use does your bike get?

There's always a balance between longevity & grip, more grippy tyres don't last as long.

Personally, I use the bike for commuting, and that includes wet weather work. In the past, I've used Metzler Z6's, but now I'm on Pilot Road 2's, and they seem better (for me - tyres are a very subjective thing).

Have a gander through the tyre's section (under hardware on the main page) for reviews of most tyres fitted to an SV.

Thanks Baph, it's a mine field!

Bike used for leisure - all roads inc motorways. Used in wet and dry weather.

There's some members in and around Yorkshire so I was hoping for info on what to get and where from.

Black Round ones You can't buy a bad modern tyre.

As Baph says, plenty of info in the tyre section. You'll find it here :

Had a pair of Continental Road Attacks fitted for £145. Not the best tyre necessarily, but much nicer than the Dunlops and a good price I thought. The Maxxis sports touring tyres are supposed to be good value for money too.
