Smile Over the Hills and Far Away

Had a fine time leaving at 7am from York to Ripon, Leyburn, Hawes, Settle, Skipton and then HARROGATE aargh!

To be fair, the traffic was building from 10am on a beautiful day, but there was massive jam in and out of the place. Reasonably ok for me as I filtered my way through at pace, but the poor sods in the cars on the nicest day of the year.

The gas man at Settle told me the cops have some high performance cars for chasing motorcyclists. I didn't see any 'Traffic Managers' trying to help out on the mess that was Harrogate. Sometimes I wonder what my poll tax/income tax/road tax/gas tax tax tax tax .. is actually spent on.

Apart from that - super morning out. First time out on those roads since I was squeaky voiced schoolboy in the sixties.

Harrogate is ****...I should know I live there .

Gonna get my kit on and get out on the bike. Should be at Squires around 1.30. No speedo though so things could be interesting!!

True they had black Impreza last year and this year I know that they use silver Golf GTI. I went more or less the same way B6265 to Ripon and the roads were very busy. But still enjoyed it.
