Hello,
I'm thinking about buying a SV650 but I would want some nice plastic on it. I've been seeing a lot of cool SV's that look nothing like the stock. But the only kits I can find for street are for old models, don't look as nice, or look like they require two different kind of lights (sv650 has one headlight by the looks of it.) I saw a bike on these forums - http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=89627 I was wondering How I could do something like that (Just the top, bottom, tail bodywork) only for street, you know, to show the lights. I heard you can buy a race kit and make modifications to it but I have no idea how, looks kinda hard, like I would need to draw out the holes and cut them with a dremel. >_< Also, would it be a better idea to get the SV650S if I was going to to this bodywork stuff? I wasn't sure if it mattered. Anyone help me out? Thanks. |

that's a GSXR race bodywork and yes you're correct, you'd need to not only cut the holes for the lights but also fabricate mounts as well, the "s" version would be easier to adapt as it has wiring for both lights, clipons (otherwise you'll have clearance issues with the handlebars) and a front frame to support the plasic fairing.
all things are possible, however a lot of work is involved, just as a matter of interest I've seen two rs250 fronted SV conversions and they were smart. Might help to put your location into you profile, as locals maybe able to help, or given the time of you post are you "across the pond", Oh and welcome. Cheers Mark.
