Hi,
I thought I would come on here and say hello. I'm Benn and I have been lurking around for a while, and posting a bit on the SELKent board, but now thought the time was right to say hello the big wide world of .org outside that board! ![]() I am currently really excited as I am picking up my first SV on saturday, and can't wait! ![]() As I am about to get the bike I am looking around at insurance, does anyone have any recommendations of good companies that are worth going with? Also, I am after a good cover for the bike as it is going to have to live outside, any suggestion of good ones would be ace. Thanks, hello and I look forward to speaking to and meeting some of you when I am out on the bike soon! Benn ![]() |

Why hello there.
Insurance companies are, essentially much of a muchness - just trawl around a few (H&R, Devitt, Bennetts, Carole Nash, MotorcycleDirect, Ebike, etc) and see which gives you the best quote. Personal recommendations don't really go far. That said, I've been with H&R for the majority of the last 15 years (two policies in parallel atm). In that time I've made two claims, one for theft (Highway through H&R, I think, handled quickly and efficiently) and one for a big accident (Landmark/AIG through Motorcycle Direct, also handled fairly well). Really, you pays the least amount of money and you takes your choice. Try not to fall off.

Ow doo
![]() Myself & my son used A Quote insurance this year, they were the cheapest for both of us. He is 18 with a 56 plate CBF600 Honda & paid about ?600 TPFT this year. I've paid ?163 Fully Comp, with my claim also being taken into consideration. They could be worth a go.

Welcome Benn! Hope you enjoy yourself in here, and on your new SV!
I have used A Quote this year also, but you can't beat doing the rounds. I came accross AQuote via the Tesco website, all good quotes there. Prior to that I was with Express Insurance for 4 years. They always came good on the higher group bikes / or when I had no NCB. |

Hiya and welcome... I use a broker called Nash Warren, use them for my car and house insurance as well as my bike and have found them to be the cheapest for me for the last 5/6 years. I pay £140 fully comp and the bike isn`t garaged. Also have no no claims bonus due to having had a break from biking for several years.

Hi Benn
![]() Footman James are very good, as you also get free UK and European breakdown and recovery with your policy.
