how much play?

should there be on the clutch lever? being my 05 sv is only my second bike (prev one was a nail owned for few months) i am unsure. it seems that there might be too much play as feels like clutch is only fully disengaged when lever is pretty much pressed on grip.

if this info is in the manual i apologise for my laziness but am in work and will check it tonight.

where is it the clucth is biteing as you let it out?thats all you really need 2 worry about unless ther really is loads of play.

Take a turn or 2 out of the adjuster on the bar then just to move it that little bit.

it bites at the right place when releasing it i reckon. just doesn't seem proportionate when pulling it in. it could just me being a burk with lack of experience. will have a go with the adjusters when i get in. gonna have to leave work soon enough and get out for a blast as quite bored.

Don't take too much out, you want a little bit of free play at the lever.
