Hey all,
After a recent mishap with a huge rock in the middle of the road, i'm after a replacement front wheel for my Pointy. I'd really prefer a black wheel, but if a silver is available at the right price I might take that instead. If you've got one, throw a number at me and i'll see what I can do! Cheers, Mike |

How bad is it, you thought about getting it repaired?
Motoliner in Kent or one in Leciester come recommended. |

There's a flat spot about 2in long on just the r/h side of the rim, but it also sticks out (away from the tyre) by about half an inch. I'm genuinely tempted to heat it up a bit and press or bash it back in, but I'm not totally confident in that. I could send it off to said places, but postage would work out more with the work than simply buying a second hand wheel. Thanks for the recommendation though!
I've found one from a bloke on eBay who wants £100 for it, but i'm not entirely sure on the condition as it's from a Cat-B write off. There's a dedicated SV breaker department of Bikehut in Bristol, so I think i'll give them a call. Sod paying £486 for a brand new one from Suzuki... Cheers |

It'll probably cost 70-100 quid to get it repaired (inc postage both ways, may even get it cheaper if you can get someone local to sort it), at least that way you'll know it'll be straight.
For gods sake though, please don't do it yourself as you could cause serious structural damage to the rim, it's just not worth it. |

Like I said, i'm not really very confident in doing it myself. I very much doubt i'll end up trying it, especially as i'll have enough money to get another wheel in a few days time.

Right i've just gotten off the phone from Dymag, who have given me the number of Maidstone Motoliner Ltd who straighten wheels from £55ish upwards. So i'll probably get them to sort it out for me as it should work out a fair bit cheaper than another wheel.
Thanks guys |

I was looking for something a bit closer to me really, which is why I tried Dymag first.
Dymag told me that they were charged ?50 to repair a badly damaged magnesium wheel, and that seeing as the damage to mine is fairly minor, it should be less despite the 'from' price on the Motoliner website. I'll give them a ring when i've got the time... |
