OH HELL YEAH!!!
Got some fitted this morning and although I've only done about 50 miles on them my bike feels like a completely different animal. It just feels so much more planted in the bends than the previous D220's A couple of times I found myself having to stand the bike up on roundabouts because it wanted to lean over so much, I almost hit the inside kerb ![]() Can't wait until they are properly scrubbed in. |

Excellent tyres the Avons, especially when compared to the D220's which to be honest are the worst sports touring tyre on the market!

Don't think the Vipers are a sports touring tyre though - the Storms occupy that space, don't they?
That said, I've just had Storms fitted and they do feel different to the BT021s I took off (but they were really bad, so we'll see in a few hundred miles) |

The storms are excellent, the vipers are better, but don't last as long.
No idea how the vipers behave in the wet.

I stuck a set of Vipers on as a summer treat, last year.
For me they just showed up the lack of quality in the suspension. ie the bike moved around a lot more. Never got them chirping, never had them slide unexpectedly. Absolute scary ****e in the cold and wet of winter. Terrible mileage. (Under 2000mile on a rear ![]() ![]() Back to Avon Storms for me earlier in the year. More solid feel but still never found wanting in the grip department so far. Maybe I give them a little more respect as they are SportTourers'. Different league in the wet ( and I'm a complete pussy in the wet, absolutely not interested.) Must get better miles and keep a better profile for longer than the Vipers. But thats for me and how my SV gets used, sounds like the Vipers have given you a boost in confidence and that is the main thing! ![]() TBH, those dunlops are utter tripe.Teflon! Typical budget OE japcrap. I always end up on Avons no matter what the bike. Enjoy!!!! ![]() |

Bike, or possibly Ride, just did a test of sporty rubber this month, the Avons came second last
