Default AC-12 vs. TZR ? recommend me a new lid!

Time to replace my aging AGV Demon Top.
Had great ventalation , never leaked and almost never fogged up. (but starting to look a bit shabby)
Would really like to find those quailties in a new lid.
(especially looking for a shield that doesn't leak during heavy rains )

Can get a good deal on an HJC AC-12 or a Shoei TZR.
Does anyone own or have info about either of these???

Or perhaps have another lid they like and would recommend to others??
For those or other reasons......

Any and all advice appreciated!!!

I've had an HJC AC-12 for 3 years now, a great lid that has done about 25k miles. Only issue is one of the vents sliders is a little loose, apart from that it's been great and cost me only GBP99, which in the UK is good value for a lid.

It also did well in a magazine test afew years ago here in the UK, I think it came second overall and got good safety marks.

Actually, I've just checked it was an AC-11, not sure if that makes much difference?

I've been using a Shoei Raid 2 for the last year, from searching the web this appears to be the same as the TZR (marketing name is USA?).

It's quiet and comfortable, ventilation is good, I've not tested it in a downpour but it has been waterproof in the rain that it has seen. The pinlock visor that it comes with (in UK at least) is fantastic at preventing misting.

Mine is one of these

Thanks for the info!!!

The Raid is the same as the TZ-R but with different graphics.

The AC-12 must be a newer version of the "11" as it is available (same graphics and all) in the UK.

Both sound good...and the Shoei is probably the better of the 2 (based on cost and company reputation) but I'm leaning towards the HJC because I like the graphics better...and it's cheaper.
(Because all their last years graphic designs are on closeout sale)
And sounds like the HJC's perform well.

Hopefully it will have a waterproof (in heavy downpours) shield as they say it has a "double seal system".(?)

From June - Sept. the only rain we get here is in the form of violent thunderstorms.....especially in the mountains where I ride.
Even the smaller storms can dump 25 to 50 mm of rain in less than 30 mins.

Just bought myself a new AGV Ti-Tech at the weekend, very, light, comfy and quiet. Was a toss up between this and the Shoei R2 TC5 but preferred the AGV in the end.

I have the AC-11 also (2nd liked the first so much). Great helmet with great safety reviews if the AC-12 is the same then you cant go wrong!
