Default do all SVs send power to the rear wheel with the clutch in?

I know what your going to say, I must have the cable ajdusted poorly, but I put it on a stand and even unbolted the assymbly that connects the cable to the transmission and still, alot of power to the rear. I did just put a new chain but I dont see how that could affect it. A clip on chain so wish me luck... Also it was hopping around on the stand when I let it go in gear, is that just part of a new chain or a sign of something dangerous? Thanks!

well yes the cable could be porrly adjusted but also just the oil spining round can some times gently turn the wheel over when on a stand especially when the engine is cold. that is fairly normal but you should be able to stop it easily with your hand or foot. any thing more powerfull than that and theres some thing wrong there.

as long as you can stop the wheel with your hand and the engine doesn't stall if you block the wheel with the rear brake it is perfectly fine.

If it is jumping up and down a lot, especially when you rev it up a little, it might be worth checking the rear wheel balance....

you might have to much oil in, I noticed the wheel turned when I put to much oil in and when I took some out the wheel didn't spin up anymore.

Also, the clutch can drag when the oil is cold, but should be fine once warm.

I think all of my bikes have done this to one degree or another.
