Whilst looking at a few bikes in a dealers recently my missus pointed out that should would happily get on the back of a cruiser style bike , but not on the back of something more sporty, so, can anyone recommend me a cruiser stlye bike in the region of about a grand that I can have a bit of fun on with the wife on the back.

my recommendation is a suzuki vl800 volusia. thats only because i have one. had it before the sv and enjoyed many miles on it. only problem is when you swop between the two, takes a few miles to get use to the different riding styles.

I know it's not a cruiser, but you (and the missus) *really* should try a VFR800 or if that's out of your price range (2.5k+) then an older VFR750 as they are very comfortable pillion friendly machines that still retain something of a sporty edge to them.

A well looked after Virago 1100. I had a 535 for a couple of years and they handle surprisingly well for a feet-forward cruiser.
