Default Any good bike electritions...??

Having a problem with my CBR600 RR 2003, home DIY electrics done by previous owner needs some attention.

It's currently cutting out at high revs when in neutral so need to get it fixed for Rockingham. We can easily reproduce this problem by blipping to the red line a few times and it dies

So can anyone recommend me a good bike electritian in area?

I bloody hate electrics so count me out. I also don't know of anyone in the local that could help. At least not by recommendation. I assume you have checked the loom and wiring for any signs of rubbing, shorting or bad connections

Why would you be @ high revs in neutral?

Anyways, might be worth sourcing a replacement loom and swapping out the bodged one.

Just be glad its not a Duc 999 - aparently a new loom for one of them is £300 and it will cost you £800 in labour to get those nice Ducati Dealers to fit it for you.

Yes, tried to tape/tie down as many loose wires without success.
It's also real mess around the manifold so would like the whole wiring loom to get a once over check by someone

Ta, have started looking on ebay for replacement looms but stuggling to find one for 600RR.

Took it to brands yesterday and it was cutting out when it was reved excessively, took tank off and taped wires, got the bike to last longer... but after engine cut out about 4 times... I was told the bike couldn't go out on track again and rightly so... we then took my bike to the car park and tried reving bike to identify the problem. Hence reving in neutral

Thinking about this logically (and not really from an electricians view point)

When you rev the engine you push more power from the generator to the reg/rec.

Could it be you are overloading something.

I would expect electrical issues to be consistant no matter the revs, but it may be a vibration thing.

I am not an ELECTRICIAN btw

Got to be worth a post in...

http://forums.sv650.org/forumdisplay.php?f=111

?

EDIT: Otherwise grab the multimeter, soldering iron and insulation tape/ check earth points etc ?

I know nothing.

are the electrics a chopped up normal or is it running total loss? - and was it just at high revs when it cut out on the track?

(not that answers'll mean anything to me)

Your mission, should you choose to accept it....

Good luck
