Default Leather knee sliders - do they smell like burnt meat?

A quick question, do leather knee sliders have a nice pungent smell coming off them after a session on track with lots of KD?

And do they singe and smoke?

Anyone any experience of these compressed cow skin marvels?

I'd never use a strap on, and if I did I'd more likely go for that other BBQ staple the sausage rather than a burger

Anyway back on track...

Well I've already bought a set, I'll take some normal sliders along to the track when I try them out in case I don't get on.

Like anything, you'll get used to them, but they do notable 'drag' more than plastic ones which is disconcerting at first!!

Just out of interest - Why did you buy them?

Because I thought :

a) they might look cool in a burnt leather kind of way
b) the smell could be fun
c) I wanted to experience the different feel
d) It's good to try most* things in life at least once
e) because I got bored over the winter and wanted to spend some readies on biking paraphenalia

*as this is a U-rated forum I shall not mention what I'm not prepared to try

That would go nicely with my plus fours when I'm out shooting, better than my scraggy Barbour, and those elbow patches are just a work of art.
