Default 2000 SV underseat storage?

Hi all,

I am new to the forum and having passed my test yesturday i am going to pick up my SV 650s tomorrow!

just wondering if it had any underseat storage at all? even if its only big enough for a disk lock or possible a security chain then that would be good.

Looking forward to the 100 mile ride home!

hey Tom and welcome,

picked up my 2000 curvy from linolnshire and had a good ride back to bristol about 2 months ago, great way to get used to the bike, congrats on passin the test!.

Yes the curvy has a bit of storage under the pillion seat, put the ignition key in the side and the seat lifts off...(or single seat cowl lifts off if u have one) and under there should be a toolkit and a bit of storage space..enough for a disk lock i would say but its not very deep so would have to be a pretty flat one as opposed to bulky....ive not used the space for anything as yet so hopefully someone who has will be along shortly to let ya know for definate!!

Have fun on the bike!

It's actually surprisingly large. You could probably keep a thrill-seeking hamster in there.

Or alternately, a small toolkit, three screwdrivers, a disclock and a roll of sellotape with enough room left over to put extra bits and bobs in there as and when needed.

Well I have u-lock, tool kit and normally my waterproof over jacket under the seat. You can slide the legs of the u-lock down the sides to the front seat.

Excellent!

i was going to buy somewaterproofs today incase it pours down tomorrow (its forecast to!!) so keeping them under the seat would be ideal!

doesnt matter if i cant fit my chain in there tomorrow as my girlfriend will be driving me down, so can keep it in the car when riding. will have to invest in a disk lock...

cant wait to pick it up!

yep. as bikes of its type go, the SV has pretty good underseat storage. you should definatly be able to get yer lock in there. i tend to keep stuff like bungies and cargo net in there too as they always come in handy to bring that crate of beer back from Tescos

it is a lovely bike, although mine wont be lent over that much for a little while!

A cargo net and straps/bungees is next on my list. i can imagine its pretty handy, especially for beer runs!

Loads of space in there, toolkit, wd40, disc lock+ reminder, spare bulb set, first aid kit, torch + spare batteries.
