Default exhaust problem - blueflame

hi guys this isnt the norm exahust

basically i had a off on the sv all gd etc, but after cleaning here i noticed the where the inet of the blueflame exhaust conects to the link and inlet has split

i emailed blue flame and asked if the had the parts also asked for a high level link too, reply said " we don't sell parts"

i replied asking if i could said it in repair and to stubby the can too, and got "Our cans are fully welded, so they cannot be stripped without destroying the can. It would be cheaper to just sell you a new can, then you would get the link pipe of your choice with it."

hmmm dont think so not spending another £300, so can i get the parts or would it be easier to buy another preferable second hand can with high level, iam not full of cash you see. and i dont want to leave the hole as its going to problaly get bigger and snap off completely

thanks

phil

That's unfortunate, see if there's a local firm that can weld, what I assume is stainless steel?

They have a lifetime gaurantee.....Mine got stupidly loud as the packing all came out.

Sent it back and they sent me a brand new can......you need to make sure your speaking to the right guy.

Email: HIGGSPEED2@aol.com

Explain the problem clearly and see what he says. I didnt even have the reciept for mine.

Yes & +1 for a replacement without receipt.

BUT it's not a warranty against accident damage and it's only supposed to be for the initial purchaser so you will need to be very careful how you approach it, if you haven't already blown your chances.

Try speaking to the MD, heres his email address if its still the same. Mine split a couple of years ago I sent it back and they re-sleved it and fitted new inlet and outlet side end caps...

When did Blue Flame become good enough to charge prices like this? Or is that how much a slip-on costs these days? Takes the **** quite frankly!

They were highly criticised when they first appeared... seems they've not quite worked out customer service yet. All their exhausts are welded eh? So what do they expect you to do when it needs repacking? Spend another £300? I should coco!

Save your pennies, buy an Akro system.

That depends on what you tell them and how you approach it. Like Stu says you have potentially already blown your chances by making the first contact poorly.

You have to blag it a little, has always worked for me.

I may have bought mine second hand off Teriakeymonkey, who may also have bought it second hand I spoke to the right people, with the right attitude and importantly with the 'right' story and got a brand new can.

If you've already approached them saying you dont have a reciept but you knocked your can and broke it.....then sadly your up pooh creek.
