Default New Boy

Hello All,

As of 1st of September, I am relocating to Oldham near N. Manc., at least for the forseeable future. Which (if any) will be my local meet and where are the details of it as it'd be nice to meet some fellow SVers in that neck of the woods.

Ta,

Ceri

I am in Middleton, so not far away at all. I dont know of any regular SV groups - somebody will probably be along soon to inform us both if there is a group.

A good local place to for a nice ride out & a look at some bikes is Big D's in Todmorden.
Despite Todmorden really being in West Yorkshire, it has an Oldham post code & a Rochdale telephone number, so I reckon its more Lancashire really.

Anyway, Yorkshire bashing aside, here is a link to thier website:
http://big-ds.net/index.php

They are very friendly & always some nice bikes to look at - and a few dogs if truth be known.

Message me if you fancy a ride out when you are settled in Oldham.

Alan

Actually its not til you stand at my mates house in Walsden do you have the border puzzle...her front door is in Yorkshire and her back door is in Lancs

People are mainly nice at BigDs, their eyes aren't too close together, so the people who attend can't be that local
As for dogs...well theres a resident dog, big slobber pooch....in fact hes cuter than some of the laydeez....oh sorry you were on about bikes yeah the show n shine tractor nite, with a few added ratters thrown in...including YCs

On the right as you go through towards lancashire on the main road from halifax. Theres a big steel sculpture of "alien" on top of a knackered car.

Came from the Hebden Bridge direction rode straight through, left via A6033, about 7pm. As I said didnt notice any other bikes or aliens ( one or two of the locals looked a bit suspect though)

As YC says, IIRC if your coming from Hebden it sits on the right, before you hit the bus depot on the left. Theres a new build housing complex opposite it.

I suggest you have a trip up to Rivvy Barn some sunday. then a trip up to Devils any day of the week. Then ask nice people to show you those roads only they know.

PS don't bother going to Yorkshire, nought to see, nought to do. and they will rob you blind. Then again at least once blind you won't be able to see how ugly the women there are. But you will be able to smell them unfortunately.
