Chip shop near us now sells 'Battered Chips'

Or there's Mars Bars, Snickers, KitKats, etc.

Deep fried Wine Gums are supposed to be nice.

Battered Burgers, Spam Fritters, Bananas...

You name it, you can DFF it.

Just make sure you remember to change the fat regularly as per instructions.
You may think it looks OK - but constantly reheating fat will change its chemical structure to one that is actually carcenogenic! Hence the stringent laws for catering places n stuff.

I wonder if you can fry jelly!

Stuffed zucchini flowers! Or 'courgette' in real English. Stuff them with blue cheese and then deep-fat fry. I'm sure you can google a recipe on the web. Super tasty

I reckon the novelty will wear off before the fat turns into carcinogenic evilness!!!

Hmmmm, battered jelly. I suspect it would melt and make a biiiiiig mess.

But may it still act a little like Baked Alaska and the batter insulate the jelly a bit... probably not. Perhaps experimentation with cubes of undiluted jelly is required...

... all in the interested of science don'tchaknow.

I was wondering that.

I suspect that, due it being a house full of engineers, a fair amount of experimentation will occur

I'll try and remember to take photos of any surprising successes and failures. I can't wait.
