Hi gang,
after several turns with the DVLA, VCA, Suzuki and VOSA, I was finally forced to buy a UK spec speedo in order to register my imported SV650S K4. The reason was that the speedo still showed km/h - the unit - even though the running speed was converted to mph. According to VOSA it's not allowed to have any references to km/h on anywhere on the clock... In any case, I've now fitted the new speedo and I'm about to book a new appointment for inspection with VOSA. However, I now need to remove the converter that the dealer installed. The dealer is willing to remove it but only at a cost (not surprised!). I can't imagine it being very hard to remove this myself but I'm not sure where to look and I was hoping one of you had installed/removed one of this and could guide me. I'm not sure exactly which converter they put on but I will try and find out tomorrow. Where is it located (I'm assuming near the gearbox??) and where is it most accessible? Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers, Dion PS. The new speedo works fine but the fuel lamp keeps blinking ![]() |

![]() ![]() The thought had occured to me. But my old speedo did not act the same way when the bike was low on petrol. Maybe the UK spec speedos are different though. And I'm pretty sure I have enough in the tank. In any case, I will try that too, though I don't think that's the problem. But you never know... The post with the pic of the petrol station was quite handy ![]() Cheers |

It could be a faulty sensor! But see how much it takes to fill it up! If it is more than 14 ltrs then it was low on fuel!

Don't know about K3's but when I had the speedo converter on my curvy over there, It was a little black box behind the headstock that was spliced into the speedo cable, just removed it and rejoined the speedo cable up, ran fine after.
