Hello ,
I purchased a Arai condor at the weekend and in the shop it fitted nice and i liked the design and was happy. tried the helmet out today and blimey was i shocked at how it performed. The noise (wind) was really loud with all vents closed and visor shut. i have called the shop and said the fit it not quite right as they probally wont give me a refund for a used one? I didnt want to pay out £200 for a lid my last one was a £60 special but i have always looked after it and it performed well in tests so thought cant be bad.I dont know what to go for when i return it. I think i have an aria head although some of the dearer shoei lids fit nice.Any thoughts would be appreciated. |

The reason they have become noisier is that Arai have adopted the removeable lining . It seems to make them much noisier . I can only wear Arai due to having the ideal Arai head . I found wearing a buff around the neck reduces noise and I have been wearing ear plugs recently and that has reduced all noise to a good level . The ear plugs have made me less tired and more relaxed on long journeys .

i was in fowlers in brsitol yesterday checking out loads of stuff, but there were too many helmets to choose from. i want a balck one, matt would be cool, but its just whihc price band i go for? if its got the acu gold stamp, its got to give the saem protection whether its £60 or £260, hasnt it? |

Yep health and safety ruling in most shops is that you can't take a helmet back.

If they do exchange it, they are breaking rules. If you wear ear plugs you'll find it really doesn't matter what helmet you wear or how loud wind noise is.

Also seems to be a lot of air circulation inside which makes me think it will be freezing in the winter as i ride all year round. The chap told me as long as i dont use it i can bring it back. i have only riden round the block in it.I called them and he said to pop in for a chat.

Yes Arais are a little noisier than most other brands but I wouldnt trust my head in anything else. Just wear earplugs. They will save your hearing no matter what lid you wear!
