Default freeflow exhaust question.

hi,
I have a curvy sv650s X reg...

atm its standard apart from a viper end can and 2 extra teeth on the rear sprocket....

ive got a BMC Filter (either race or RS still not sure!) and am waiting for some new jets to arrive before fitting....

my exhaust pipes are standard with the viper end can, are there freeflowing pipes i can buy and attach my viper too? i dont really understand much about exhausts or how the aftermarket ones are different too standard etc....(so feel free to educate me!)

and cant afford / justify a full aftermarket system....and like the sound of the viper....

thanks in advance

Hi

Your viper should be a 52mm slip on attachment which is the norm for most exhausts. My akrapovic downpipes, although I would need to confirm this, have a 52mm connection to the akrapovic exhaust I have. Therefore, you could theoretically go out and buy some akrapovic downpipes and fit your viper can to them. You could do the same with arrow downpipes as I believe they are the same size having recently sold a set.

However, your best bet is to sell your viper (should go for £65) and buy a second hand system as that would be the best approach and avoids having to spend ridiculous amounts of money. Second hand systems, complete with end can end up going for anywhere inbetween £100-240 depending on the quality of the advert and the time at which the advert ends. Search ebay for some and we can always scrutinise for you. :P

thanks instigator....

as i thought theres not a cheapy cheap cheap way of doing it.....might have to leave it for the time being me thinks...wait for the jets to arrive..fit the new filter....raise the tank and be happy at that till cash flow is a bit better....

or decide not to have the twinshack lowers for xmas and opt for a full system instead....decisions decisions!!!

cheers fella

It's alreet, I tend to do exactly the same as you did.

Imo, I have a full akra system now and although I am still in the hunt for more noise, the difference between just a can and a full system probably isn't as dramatic as you'd think.
