Does the "naked bikes" smaller front sprocket make much difference to the acceleration? I'm thinking of fitting one to my 650s, I went for a one tooth smaller front sprocket on my KTM 640 and it made it so much more responsive. Also does anyone know if a standard sv650s k7 will pull the redline in 6th gear?

Front sprockets are all 15T as far as I know, the naked bikes have an extra tooth on the rear (44/45)

not sure of the SV suffers the same problem as my TT600, they used to put 14T on the front but the wear on the chain strip was so severe that it would eat through and then though the swing arm, on the Speed4 they changed the config so it used a 15T but in the same ratio at the rear so the problem would not happen.
I keep 15T on my sv, just go up 1 on the rear and ignition advance, it redlines in 6 in good conditions (thats without a fairing too). Even with 15T on the front, the last sprocket was knackered way before the chain or rear sprocket. Can you fit 16T to the front, prolly not realy a good idea, the total mass of chain etc would be raised.

Correct, the front is the same and only the rear is different by one tooth between the 'N' and 'S' models. There is a slight difference in acceleration, mainly felt at lower speeds on the 'N' and to be honest with the dodgy speedos there really isn't much in it for top speed.
