Default Almost head on collision

So I was minding my own business when I see a car overtaking in the distance, I realise that he's quite close (bear in mind it's pitch dark) so pull right over to the left hand side of the road and brake hard, he misses me by no more than a foot at which point I start to do a U-Turn to (my thoughts were) follow him and kill him by smashing his head against his steering wheel.

I decided that perhaps it wouldn't be particularly pertinent to do that as the sort of person who makes an overtake like that with no hope of success probably carries a knife with him. Still, it was with some regret that I carried on my way. Throughout the rest of the drive, lots of people pulled out on me which was great.

I've never felt so entirely certain that I was going to die. I'm so angry that I don't think words can express it. Sorry to rant but I haven't really got any other way of venting.

Oh and the ****ty ****flap made me break my indicator against the bushes on the left hand side of the road.

Sorry to hear it. I had a bloke pull out on me this morning in the pi**ing down rain. Puts a right downer on your mood doesn't it?

I experienced something similar a few weeks back. A bmw driver, what a surprise. I'm liking the smashing the head against the steering wheel idea. Sounds therapeutic.

Sorry to hear that mate, it sucks when you get complete t055ers on the road. But you came out OK so on balance you should have a few weeks of motorcycling without incident

Sorry to hear of this- this sort of thing is very frightening to say the least and my blood has boiled by similarly foolish drivers.

You kept your head, thought about it, and got on with things- that's something to be proud of. Nice one.

You did the sensible thing and didn`t go after him , in a red mist you can sometimes make an even bigger mistake by gunning it after these pillocks and having an accident . Put it down to good observations on your part and keeping your cool is where the true success of this outcome lies , forget about it as soon as you can and keep a vigilant eye open for the next one who COULD be around the very next corner .

Thanks guys, I know in hindsight I did the right thing, and it's nice to know I can keep my cool in that sort of situation and get out of the way.
