Default hey every1, newbie here. need a little advice on 33bhp restrictor!!

hey people. basically im 19 ive just put a deposit down on a suzuki sv650s k3, the bike is getting restrictor fitted as we speak and i am having the bike saturday.

wondering what sort of top end speed will you achieve with a restrictor kit and does it affect the acceleration ? ( if so how much difference )

and also how they restrict the bike on a sk3, washers or ecu or possibly both.

any help would be much appreicated.... Thanks Dan

ECU probably if it's a dealer, if not then it'll be the FI international kit which will make it run rich and generally like a bag of crap.

Make sure they give you your proper ECU back, they have no right to keep it! (they may try to charge you to get it back after 2 years... it's yours... it's your bike!)

Top end for restricted pointy is about 100 indicated mph.

It should be done free by a dealer using a restricted ECU, simply plugs in and replaces the full power ECU.

As Chris said, you should get an indicated 100mph, real world would be around mid-late 90's.

A restricted SV does suffer, when compared to a full power SV which is obvious, especially in the upper half of the rev range. To be honest the SV650 is probably the best bike to have restricted, it will offer enough performance when restricted and will be far more useable and offer more torque than any 125 on the market.
