Default Chain came off HELP!

The story:

Last night on my way home from football training, coming around as fast right hander I hit a bump in the road and bang! The chain jumps off the rear sproket and proceeds to rip the clutch mounting off the engine casing and destroy the clutch cover and rip through a few wires. Somehow the rear wheel didnt lock and I managed to control the bike to the ride of the road, Really thought I was going to stack it. Waited about 1.5hours for the recovery van and got home thanking my lucky stars that I wasnt travling in an ambulance.

The cause:

The only thing it could have been was a slack chain, I adjusted it just over aweek ago, but the chain was on its last legs....
So I can put that down too poor mantainance I guess

The problem:

Its my only transport and need it get back on road asap!

The help:

What should I do about getting it sorted? take it to a shop? get the bits of ebay etc and try get it done myself and with some help?

Im really annoyed with it all, hope it dosent cost too much to get it sorted!

cant upload pics becuase im having to use a comptor at the libary.

Thanks for any help guys

What bits do you need?

Well apart form a new chain and sprocket set which you might be able to get from a dealers, or order now for a quick delivery from B&C Express.

as far as I can tell i need the plastic front sproket cover and fasteners, and the LHS engine casing.

Also, the bike turns over but wont start up, I guess that could be electircal or due to the clutch not engageing properly.

Whats wrong with the engine casing? Can't be that bad if you can start the bike and it not leaking oil. You can get away with not having the clutch cover. Its more to keep your toes safe.
You might have torn the sidestand cut out wires with your jumping chain, but I don't know how they route on the pointy's.

behind the front sprocket cover, you have the bit where you can adjust the clutch, where the adjustment it attached to the engine casing it has been torn clean off. I guess it could be welded back together, but thats way out of my league.

the bike dosent start, it just turns over. and there is no oil leaking.

Most probably have got some sort of cut out has been when the chain came off, now as the bike turns over I would suspect the sidestand as the kill switch and clutch cut-out all will stop the bike turning over. Is the bike in gear, or in neutral? As if its still in gear it won't start as pulling in the clutch does nothing now so the sidestand cut-out would kick in.
Replacing the engine casing will require you to drop the oil out, so your need to get some more.

thanks for the tips, already have oil so that should be ok.

its in neutral, I was able to change out of gear easily. So im not sure why it dosent start (apart from the cut wires which i guess is the cause)

But it turns over on the button? If so, it's not any switch causing the problem.

Ouch. That sucks. The same happened to me, but the chain didn't eat as much when it came off. Not sure if there's much I can offer, tbh! I got things sorted by AMS, if that helps. http://www.amsmotorcycles.org.uk/
But Nick had a few problems with them, so who knows!
