Hi folks Noob in Need here!
Apologies in advance as i will either; a -be asking stupid questions b -not put any relevant info in or c -be wasting everyones time including my own Now I know this subject will of been covered but after searching thru the forum for a couple of hours i still couldn't find the correct info. I currently have a standard 2001 650s Curvy and am looking to upgrade the front forks and have happened upon a full set of GSXR600 fork internals (my uncle has upgraded his track day bike and has a set lying around). To start with will these fit? And being a noob will only a small amount of technical knowledge how should i go about fitting them? All help most graciously received! ![]() |

hi, if its just internals .. no. if its the whole forks then yes.
but you will need the yokes as well, also the top bearing is different. but someone with more knowledge will be along soon. |

Says who. Has anyone done it? Tried it? Failed?
I've heard of VTR firestorm cartridges being fitted. However the SRAD forks are a f### site bigger than the SV ones... dunno what model you have but the forks are all bigger diameter than the SV. I agree that it's easier to fit the whole front end, probably. Maybe. But I wouldn't write it off as impossible.

You could probably sell the internals you have and get some decent springs which would fit (or fit easier)?

I don't think the GSXR internals will fit in the SV forks.
There are a few ways to improve the SV's front end; - Progressive/Linear Springs and oil to suit you weight - Race Tech Fork Emulators - A full GSXR front end |

Just been looking at an american site with racetech springs and the sizes it quotes are ; SV650s 99-08 Spring Dimensions 34.7mm x 340mm
GSXR600 06-07 Spring Dimensions 35.5mm x 33.5mm x 270mm First question, why the extra measurement? (probably being a complete tool here) and secondly I am hoping there is a tiny bit of leeway with the diameter or if not can i make some leeway with a sledgehammer? ![]() |

Why are you looking at spring sizes? Are you wanting to fit the springs, or the cartridges?
