Default which bike then?

as some poeple have been slaying the hornet 900, i went into my local bikeshop motorbiking, and they had a new white cb1000r and it was gorgeous!!!! sooooooo pretty. performance just goes out the window when you see that! was really tempted at going down the bank there and then and getting a lone for 6k, but then i checked the insurance when i got home and im glad i did!!! insurance was just over a grand!!! no no no. tad too much. mabye next year though.

saw the hornet they had, and was going to take it for a test ride but the weather was pants, so i didnt. but i have the choice of three bikes which they had.

gsxr750 02 model black and yellow. bit small and low though.
sv1000 03 model copper. good bike, like the unfaired one more, but the colour was a no no.
hornet 900 03, blue, very good condition,
and a zrx 1200. bit of an old mans bike.

all of which were sub 3K mark, my price range.

they had some very nice bikes over 4K but that will take me a couple more months to save and insurance is higher.

Shop around for insurance. The quotes you get online bear no relation to the premium you'll pay if you phone around some of the 0800 numbers in the back of MCN <spit>.

I'm with Carole Nash and they always end up cheaper for me with extra benefits thown in.

+1 on that. When I was getting insurance on the SV, I had quotes for a grand or so...ended up paying less than 200 quid! - Who knows where some of these companies get the figures from...

XAN173 on here has a CB1000R - am sure he can bestow its virtues on you...

well ive had a thought now, and judging on the price of the honda im not getting that.
I've settled on teh kwak z1000. like the look of them, nice and meaty and dont need much doing to it. just tail tidy, exhaust and some tidying up etc

should have the money by the end of the month!

Check out this thread: http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=116428

Mr Rictus has a Brother who's selling his Z1000 '05. Looks good and within your price range.

EDIT: Forget that it's gone. Sorry.

You know you want it! Hang fire until Honda panic and put 0% on more models.

I went up the dealers a few weeks back to look at these and had discounted the white after just seeing pictures but its ferkin lovely in the flesh.

Proper build quality too, might sound expensive but you are getting a hell of a lot of bike for the money.
