hi everyone, got my suzuki sv last wk, and took it straight to garage to be restricted, however after giving it a good polish, i've discovered one of the panels is cracked. its the main panel on the front, which covers headlights etc. one of the allen key bolts looks like its been over tightened. its cracked but not come off entirely. its on the right hand side just hidin when ur on the bike by the handle bars. also the plastic cover on the panel below has a scew missing, not really bothered about that, but the cracked panel has really ruined my sunday lol. guy who i bought bike off is absolutely adament it wasn't like that when i got it off him, which was last wk. and i believe him cos i would have noticed it, but i'm not completely 100% and even thou i'm sure it was done at the garage i dont know what to do. would they have had to take this panel off to restrict it? mines on 02 model so it was done on the carbs, but would they have taken that top main panel off to do it. it was done at a main dealers and i wasn't happy as they changed price from 180 to 218 to have it restricted. please help

They shouldn't need to remove the front section to restrict the bike.
I would take the bike back to the guy that restricted it and report the damage and say you know for a fact the bike was not in this condition when you dropped it off. Is it a Pointy or a Curvy, and do you know what type of restriction was used (Suzuki or F1)? Last edited by Dangerous Dave; 12-10-08 at 12:40 PM. |

You only need to remove the tank, the two side panels below the seat and the seat itself need to be removed to raise the tank, as the FI kit sits under the carbs.
You can plastic weld the panel together, personally I would question as to why the fairings were even removed. |

cheers for the advice, i went to a motorcycle bodyshop today and they reckon they can repair it for a good price. thinking about it i had near miss fri, my right arm slipped and landed on the front panel, so it could have happened then. i just dont no but its getting sorted so i'm made up. she'll be ready in a couple of days.
