Question Respraying helmets

Hi Guys,

I'm not a biker (luckypants is my Dad though!) but want to get my kayaking helmet professionally resprayed. It is a carbon helmet that you should be able to partly see in my avatar. Aparently bike helmet resprayers should be able to do it easily.

My questions for you guys is:
-Who do you recommend? (i'm based in Aberystwyth / Ruthin)
-How long will it take? (how long might I be without my lid?)
-How much is it likely to cost? (rough figures to give me an idea are fine - the design it likely to be simple with only 2 colours)

All tips and advice welcomed!

Cheers,

Lowri

I have seen some of this guys work, its the only one I know of though

http://www.customhelmets.co.uk/

Very good (he does it for pros), but can be expensive and can take a while.

You would have to explain to him what you wanted as I imagine a small basic kayak helmet would be easier than a bike helmet.

I was thinking of getting my helmet resprayed, it's a Shoei though so is a polycarbonate, is this still okay?

Am I getting confused or do you compete in kayaking internationally or similar? Didn't ol' Lucky post about raising funds or something to help you compete?

Or maybe that was someone else...

theres a guy that advertise on ebay......... i think your looking at well over £100 for a propper airbrush jobby, although i guess it all depends on what you want, i know peeps that heve DIY painted there lids, you say the design is simple, so maybe an option?.......... or get some stickers made? or even that heat shrink wrap stuff?

heres the link
