Default Best earphones for riding?

As per title. What do people recommend, what do you use, what wouldn't you use and what's been rated highly in magazine reviews etc.?

Any useful advice or info will be greatly received.

The earphones i use at present are my sony erricson ones that are quite good but have a tendency to come out of my ear a touch as I'm riding.

So I'm after loud, clear, comfortable, durable, in-ear headphones that block out most external sounds.

No stupidly priced earphones either so a top price of say £50. (unless they're custom made/moulded ones)

Cheers

Had some wharfedale ones before which were excellent, blocked out a lot of wind noise, went quite far into your ear.

Now got sennheiser CX500s, they're better sound quality, but don't block half as much noise. They don't sit as far into your ear, so it's all dependent on how well the rubber thing seals round edge.

Robo, just because you're listening to music doesn't mean you have to have it at 3 million dB, drowning out everything. And really, what sound is going to be important if you're observing what's around you properly?

Thanks, that's useful!! Do you like potentially deafening wind noise at 70mph+ or do you use ear plugs (if not, why not you fool?). Music serves the same purpose, the earphones can block out the damaging wind noise but also give you something to listen to on long journeys (or do you never do motorway/dual carriageway riding), breaking up the monotony and raising concentration levels.

Tis a beautiful soundtrack, but it's difficult to hear at 70+ with ear plugs in!

Cool, cheers.

I want mine to block out as much road noise as possible as most of it is useless when traveling on the motorway as it's all drowned out by wind noise.

I want it to be loud and clear as music keeps me focused on long journeys and I tend to be very aware of my surroundings when traveling at warp speeds!

Unfortunately I am devoid of this skill and even if I could, I don't think the bike will lift the front when traveling at motorway speeds!

The big problem is you don't know how well they're going to fit until you've bought them. Not really hygienic trying on the ones that fit deeply into the ear lol.
