Can I safely take this plug out without causing armageddon?

It needs a polish ....

I think it's for the TDC marks, but somebody who has actually used it will be along shortly.

it allows viewing of the rotor timing marks, it can be removed and replaced harmlessly*

by anybody who's more that a complete idiot, don't go dropping stuff in there.

No - can't see the point when I have a nice car to keep me warm and dry and safe.

Bikes a hobby, not an essential means of transport - Mind, I do get wet ( and dirty ) on this one ..
