Default Chain noise

Just checking that this is normal.

got the new Izumi chain fitted, and done about 250miles on it and it is noticably louder than the stock chain set up. Is this normal? Or a sign of somthing being up?

cheers

If you have an aftermarket front sprocket fitted. It is highly likely it will not have the rubber banding which the standard front sprocket has. The is a noise reduction part. Just about all aftermarket sprockets do not have this additional bit on, thus it's more noisy.

I would expect it is this that you can hear.

I havent checked if its straight, but it hasnt been adjusted since Ive installed it, so I think it should still be straight, as I did the same amounts of turns on both sides when installing it.

Yep its an aftermarket steel front sprocket. I didnt notice a rubber bit when taking of the front one mind.
