Uncut white bread sliced to approx half inch thich

butter the bread

liberal quantity of tommy ketchup applied to each slice of bread

bacon has to be smoked back, cooked so rind is just starting to crisp

4 slices bacon per sarnie

eat. enjoy

And forget the smoked bacon, plain, dry cured back is best. Brown sauce, runny fried egg times two, perfecto!

forget the bread and put it on a toasted bagel instead, with red sauce and fried egg.

Brown sauce. White bread, I don't care what bacon as long as its crispy and there's lots of it.

Suddenly my soup doesn't look so nice.

What you describe is a bacon and egg sandwich.

Bacon should be smoked dry cured back bacon, hand sliced, cooked as Keith describes. White bread has to be buttered (not margarine / Flora / etc.) and maybe some brown sauce. Sauce depends on quality of bacon.
