Hi,
I've got a W-reg SV650S (Y?) which I bought knowing its had 2 previous lady owners, one of which had fitted a Maxton seat lowering kit (and possibly lowered the handlebars). Could anyone tell me what size links would originally have been fitted and/or the best place to look for replacements? Also, how should the forks sit in the handlebars? Currently they are sticking up just under an inch. Does that sound about right? Or should it be less. Mark I'm 6'4 by the way, so any recommendations from taller riders would be great! |

CJ Accessories will sell the correct height ones, plus shorter/longer, or you could source a OEM pair from either a dealer, a breaker or from Ebay.
The forks should sit flush with the top yoke with only the fork cap protruding above the top yoke (this should be about 3mm above the top yoke). These are lowered but you can see the fork cap that I am on about... I am 6'1 and the seat to floor height was never an issue, I jacked the rear end up on all the bikes to speed up the steering and get the SV set up for my riding style. If you feel your legs are a little cramped rear sets or foot peg raiser kits are the only option. Last edited by Dangerous Dave; 12-11-08 at 03:01 PM. |
