Default Camcorder cables

I have recently found an old camcorder with old "compact video cassete"'s in the bag containing oldish home movies. However, I do not have any cables to connect it to either my TV/dvdrecorder or PC. It has A(yellow) + V(white) out:

and here is the front of my PC - It has a "Composite" socket (yellow)- I don't have the faintest idea what it is for!

Sorry images are fuzzy, I had to use my ****ty phone!

Is there a cable to connect the AV out to the composite and If so, is there software out there for free? I managed to connect my old turntable up to my pc without any problems but my brain is a bit full at the moment with other stuff and cant get my head around it!

Default Re: Camcorder cables

Well if I remember correctly yellow is video and white is normally left audio or mono.

The s-video can take a av cable with a converter or just use the composite direct, but both do not take a sound feed, your need to plum that into your sound card. AV to phono converter or something, should be able to get them from Maplins.
All this depends on that plug in on the front of your PC being the connection to a video capture card, so if you not sure have a look about the software on your PC, as if it came with the PC its normally bundled as a whole. Might be a CD/DVD laying about that you haven't installed yet. If its not installed then I would suspect those are video outs rather then video in.

What model PC is it.
