Default So I've got a bit of a leak in my garage roof... but there's no hole or crack?

New house, new garage full of carp soon to be emptied out and turned into my dream workshop (where I can learn how to undo bolts and drill bits of wood for no reason whatsoever)...

Only trick is that there's about 2-3 mini leaks in the corrugated roofing. It's like the old asbestos type stuff, and it has to rain hard & for quite a while for the water to soak through and start dripping slowly onto my wooden ikea draws... There's no obvious holes or cracks nearby, so I'm a bit baffled as to how exactly it's happening. Are there any products on the market to fill this kind of thing up? I've been considering some kind of sealant or filler spread over the area's where water's creeping in but I've not experience with this kind of stuff and I can only see the situation getting worse if I do try anything random.

Any advice for stopping this is greatly appreciated

mine was like this and you'll prob find like me you have hairline cracking in the ageing roofing pannels, first i tryed silicone on the cracks, then i tryed black cold bitumen on the roof (2 coats) sorry but nothing worked so i needed to take drastic action!

i purchased a firestone pond liner 20ft x 10ft for about £100 from a garden centre and put this ontop and trimmed it with treated lath, its been dry ever since and now ive noticed companys using the same rubber liner on proper flat roof house extensions.

I'm sure you know already but don't drill, cut or break the roof if you think its asbestos!

You're own garage. You lucky, lucky man.

you could try some of this
http://www.waterproofingdiy.co.uk/pa...=198&ProdID=48

its about 7.99 from wilkinsons. I did a temp repair with it on my threshold on the front door with it.....it ain't leaked since. Some of the mastik was obviously cracked but i couldn't see it

Dunno what it is but itss like a spray on bitumen stuff. Got another can of it to seal the shed this week, got a leak under the frame

Check the felt underneath the roof, if this has a tear in it, it will be the cause of the problem.

Moved in:

2 days later:

But half that stuff is for sale or destined for the skip... gonna evict the spiders, paint the floor & walls, new strip lights, shelves, a proper work bench with a vice and a bench drill, tools neatly arranged on the wall, a glass front cube fridge, calor gas fire, stick an old computer with added wifi in there, stereo & some beers.... If carlsberg did garages, they'd be shiiiite compared to mine just need to fix the leak
