My motorcycle has an Alternator with 3 black wires coming out of it. They run to the Reg /Rec where they become 3 wires Red White & Blue. So can I assume that the 3 black wires are all exactly the same & it doesn't matter how I connect them to the Reg/Rec? as long as I use the 3 connections that were originally black (leaving the Red White & blue alone?)

With a Stiff Upper Lip you'll have the wires Back In Black with a Flick Of The Switch
Or you could get someone to do it for you for a good price if you want Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap Just don't try and film what you're doing as the High Voltage might Blow Up Your Video
