Your mates are no better, they covered your story, allowed you to lie and watched an innocent man get convicted.

I still don't understand that the magistrates saw this video and convicted the squaddie

But the squaddie appealed and the conviction wass overturned - now let's see if the coppers involved face disciplinary proceedings and a possible court hearing.

Exactly, the PC should be out in prison for that. Unprovoked assault on a defenceless victim, what a coward. The two "officers" who corroborated his Lightfoot's story have to be sacked (resigning is the easy way out) lose their pensions and be unemployable as happened the victim. A case of one rule for us and one rule for the rest by the Police, yet again.

Like Tim, I am amazed that the Magistrates convicted squaddie lad, but perhaps they were not shown the CCTV footage? If they had access to the CCTV it beggars belief and the Mags should also be suspended as plainly not up to the job.

Don't tar us all with the same brush please-as in every job there's those who choose to conduct themselves wrong and the police are no different-
this case highlights that.
He will get done and quite rightly so-his worst nightmare could come true due to his own conduct-an ex cop doing time!-no thanks to that -i'd rather take my chance on the run

Oh I don't, I know some excellent officers and also some bad apples. BUT a Policeman's word should count for no more than mine in a court of law. Unless you have proof to back up your claims in court, STFU, same applies to everyone else to.

Of course in this case, the corroborated stories from 3 Police officers should be proof enough...... the chances of 3 officers on the same shift and on the same arrest having different stories is pretty remote though Which is why CCTV will cut both ways.

Funnily enough I know a female detective constable called Tracy, her nickname amongst our mates is Dickless Tracy.
