NHL anyone? - SV650.org

Just wondering how many of you back in England watch the NHL. Living in Calgary we are fortunate to have both a NHL (Flames) and WHL (Hit Men) teams. Both of which are leading the Western Conferences.
If you do watch it, what do you think of the fighting, compared to a gentle game of soccer. Often a player will instigate a fight to get the raise the teams spririt, and when you are at the arena you can feel the change in the atmosphere. Recently a Minor League player died after a fight (he hit his head on the ice) and there is talk about banning fights, but I cant see it happen.

unfortunately theres not that much hockey over here in comparison, and the rinks are terrible.

I agree, let's talk about the 2003-2004 season, when the Flames lost the Stanley Cup in game 7. We were robbed as they disallowed a goal in game 6 that would have finished it for Tampa Bay. Better luck this year (sorry - we're not talking about this season are we)
