As you may be aware, I've been a bit "Out of work" since the end of October.
Interview wise the first one was cancelled as the company decided to make reduncancies instead of job offers. The second one was postponed as the interviewer had a death in the family. Then I had 2 interviews on Monday, one for a law firm, one a financial services provider. On Tuesday, the law firm offered me a role. I accepted. Hooray. Yesterday, the financial services company offered me a role. I've accepted. Hooray. I let the first consultant know I've changed my mind. He say's he may get back to me with a counter offer (mo money etc). But the work at the financial services co will be more interesting, I think. So I'm going with that role. So I've been to 2 interviews & have a 100% hit rate for job offers. So, I'm happy. I now need to buy more shirts & ties. Then mebbe a Gixxer or a DRZ. Hooray for me! |

I had a month like that before I went back to IBM... it was nice to pick the job that would rather have, then the one with a little more money.
Congrats. |

![]() However, if it were me, given the that the financial sectior is haemorraging jobs left, right and centre (and assuming you don't want to be unemployed again), I'd have taken the law firms job. Maybe you still will if there's a counter offer ![]() |

From what they've said they seem to be secure. Yeah, it's a punt, but if the worst came to it - I've had 2 interviews & each company said that I had set a very high standard. By the sounds of it, I am good at interviewing and therefore if I was made redundant then I would not have anything to fear from applying for other jobs in the future. Um, if I did get made redundant - fine - I'll just point my bike East & see if I can get further than the Road of Broken Bones in Kazakhstan ;o) |
