I bought a Rep & Air Kit from Hein Gerricke after seeing one used and then the bike being ridden without any further trouble all the way back from the Lake district thats what I'd be going for.

The one with refill canisters, I can't remember it's name, but it comes with rubber bungs & a hand-drill type attachment. That's the one I have, and it cost me £20 from a dealership.

I haven't tried stickystring etc (I was looking for it when I got the canister/bung/drill version), but a lot of people like them.

From flat, and I mean completely flat, it took me 10mins to bung the tyre & re-inflate. It's not advised that you ride on a bung'd tyre, but I did, for approx 4000 miles. I didn't hang about & it was fine.

Minor hijack - but after using your Heine Gerricke repair kit (inexpertly using 2 plugs and half the glue up) is it poss to just get more plugs/glue?

Edit: Aha...... http://www.bikestopperz.com/catalog/...roducts_id=185

I've got a Rep & Air kit (kit with 3x compressed gas)

Bought a £2.97 Tesco camera case and put all of the puncture kit into it and store it under pillion seat

Instead of plugs and glue - get sticky string

You can find it on ebay

Yup love the sticky string - Brand name is Crafty Plugger. (chas Bikes in London has them) But you need to get the refil cannisters separately if you want them.*
Took me about 5 mins to repair when someone pointed out bubbles - & I didn't even need to inflate the tyre And I have full confidence in a tyre after I have repaired it.

I remember it well

I knew the tyre was getting towards the end of it's useful life - 650 miles in 2 days, some of which were done at a very 'enthusiastic' pace was enough for it to finally give up.

Plugged it with the Rep & Air (after trying that aerosol foam sh!t that was a waste of time) and road 330 miles home with no problems, although it was a bit slower than on the way up

Had never used one before, however it was a piece of pi55 to use and did the job nicely.

Would that be the stuff that inflates the tyre and bungs the gap in one handy squirty can? Is it that bad cos I have a can?

Its OK as long as the hole is small, if not you is F*cked as the sealant just p*sses out the hole in the tyre instead of sealing it up...

The plugs or sticky string are much better.
