Evening all.
Been out on the Kwak properly today. It's now done over 100 miles. I'm running it in reasonably carefully. Although 4000 rpm is ridiculous and will kill the motor so its revving a little but nothing serious yet! The tyres have scrubbed in pretty well now and feel amazing (BT015's) also the brakes are nothing short of insane. I think the SS600 is defintiely the logical progression from my old pointy, it feels very sharp and handles really well. Corners are even more fun than on the sv and the suspension seems to be pretty amazing from the crate. I do miss the engine braking from the twin though and the standard kwak pipe sounds very quiet. Although ram air sounds awesome!! Can't wait to open it up!! |

Once you can use all of the revs you'll find it has enough engine braking if you roll off the throttle at 14,000rpm.

Cool, it's going to sound great at those engine speeds!
I seem to have posted in the wrong section, sorry chaps. |

But you dont need to use the engine braking as you have superior front suspension and brakes. Also if you shut the throttle when its higher up the rev range, you'll find ample engine braking.
Oh and I moved your thread to the right section

Kwaks are second best sounding in-line-fours. They only fall second to Yamaha's new R1 for 2009. Awesome sounding bike, if you still haven't heard it you're missing something special.

yeah i've heard it on you tube, amazing.
The kwak is going to sound just fine but will need a noisy pipe and they cost a lot!! Also the R&G tail tidy came with a terrible rear light. It's e-marked so does that mean legal? Me mate said he can hardly tell when i'm braking. |

If it's not clear you're braking it's your health that's at risk so I'd change it before doing any other mod. I'm also one that's against little dinky lights as indicators which give little information as to your intentions. We are hardly seen by car drivers as we are so best not make our situation worse.

I have the standard light that came with the bike so I mat retrofit that. I don't mind LED indicators as they are nomally much brighter than standard. But as yet I have not fitted any.

Yeah the Kwak is very quiet low down but wait until you have finished running it in and get it past 10,000rpm. The noise is amazing. Thats why I never bothered with an aftermarket can on mine.
