Default what year did gsxr750 go to efi from carbs?

Looking for some gsxr 750 carbs for the cvh engine from my sierra... I'm pretty sure k1 onwards is efi but just wanted to double check... All advice greatly appreciated

Fuel injection from 1998 onwards.

Is fitting gsxr carbs to a sierra a normal mod or are you branching out?

well, the existing engine runs off carbs and lots of other people use carbs from various supersports bikes...

many people seem to bang on about webber carbs which produce alot of power but are relentlessly thirsty and are relatively old technology now. Bike carbs are very neatly contained units and although they don't kick out as much power as webbers, they're much more efficient

pics of 1.8 cvh below with gsxr750 carbs...
video of same engine running with carbs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=GB&h...&v=NcVMVosgZ5w

750L 38mm carbs, 750RK 40mm (rare), SRAD 39mm CV's. 98 went EFI with 46mm throttle bodies (could be worth a look with a megasquirt system)

A better bet might be the 40mm carbs from a GSXR1100M, these seem a bit big for the 11, but might be closer in flow to the webers.

However, I think cylinder spacing on the SRAD is tighter than on the 1100 motor, so dunno if it'll still fit that lump of yours, you may have to make new brackets (will you have to do this anyway?)

Whatever you pick you'll probably need dyno time to set it up.

Was just having a quick gander for rough prices on carbs but there's only one set on ebay and they're going for 150 quid! Another popular choice seems to be r1 carbs so that could be worth a look, as well as the gsxr1100m's...

A new "manifold" needs to be fabricated (kev used samco silicone hoses on his, and I think some round hollow section to make the mountings a bit stronger.... - see pics above). You can actually see the samco hoses contractling slightly when the engine is blipped! Puts a smile on my face

You can connect megajolt ignition management to computer and use some nice open source software to mess with ignition advance/retard to get the spark set up nice and right, but a rolling road would be much more efficient & probably easier than trial and error on the open road with a laptop on passengers lap lol
