Default Geek Please! Torrent help...

I've tried downloading a couple of torrents, do they always need to be burnt onto a DVD before you can install the files?
I've tried different torrents of the same programs and they all end up with pretty much the same problem - I dont have any writable DVD's to test, worth buying some or am I being a stupid head and its supposed to go straight to hard disc?

Thanks as ever

PM me with details of exactly what you have downloaded - the info you have provided is too vague to give you an answer.

Depends what format you download, personally I don't use torrents.

AVI or DIVX files (usually 700mb - 1GB) need converting, ConvertXtoDVD is your friend for that jobby, takes a while though.

If it`s a movie then you could possibly or possibly not use "Alcohol 100%" to kinda convert files into a watchable format ............... or so I hear , Ahem

Alcohol 120% I think you mean.

Another good alternative is Daemon Tools.

Sounds like he's got image of a program DVD rather than a video DVD or whatever.

Daemon tools makes the image file act like an extra DVD drive.

If you're looking at playing vids in various formats download CCCP
If you want to extract, burn etc. disc image files then try MagicISO or like everyone else says, Daemon Tools!

Download deamon tools and install it. It will then be down the bottom of the screen beside the clock, right click on it and choose mount image, browse to the torrent file you downloaded and in the folder only one option (the image) is now in the folder, double click it and it will auto run.
It is also now listed as a drive in my computer beside your other dvd drives so you can also explore it if you need to find a serial number etc.
