Won a Garmin Streetpilot 3 on ebay last week, as it's waterproof, thought I could use it on the bike. Paid £50 quid for it, the guy said it had europse maps. Now, it's arrived, and no data card, or cd's in the box.
Before I get irritated with the seller and ask for my money back which I just know is going to be futile somehow, is it possible to buy maps/data cards for it since it is discontinued? Or can you download maps for it? OH reckons not......but I wanted to ask the mighty org ![]() |

Email the seller asking where the maps are. If they start playing funny buggers neg them into the ground!!! Buyer has all the power now, he can't give you neg feedback.

Plus payapl dispute = he can't use his account until its sorted.
paypal pretty much WILL side with you because you're the buyer. That's why i never sell on ebay. Buyer has the power, as said above. |

Could be a genuine mistake aswell, better to give him the benefit of the doubt to start with. If he dicks about then flame him

I purchased some Garmin map data here but you need to create a free account https://my.garmin.com/mygarmin/custo...rminHome.faces it will require the serial number so if its a dodgy one you will soon find out. I hope you have the USB lead!

Anyways not getting involved in that side of it but you may be able to get one from GPSW, UK distributors of Garmin stuff, do not be sucked in, the SPIII only really works with a 128Mb card (or smaller), there is a double memory 256Mb card available but they are hit or miss as to working correctly*. They may also be able to supply MapSource, Euro 2008 was the last one that Garmin has supplied that will work properly with the unit, be wary of buying a 2nd off eBay as the activation code will probably have been used. *Got one a few years back, not made by Garmin and only worked as 256 for about 3 months, now is a spare 128 card |

What makes you think it doesnt have the euro mapping in? Have you tried choosing a euro destination and seeing if it gives you a detailed route?
