Hi there. I've just bought an 06 CBR600-RR track bike and was just after some guidance from the amazing .org!
1. What are the recommended tick-over revs? 2. What does the lambda (sp?) sensor do and is it imperative to have? 3. What oil is recommended for track use on this bike? 4. I have an ignition for this, however the chap I got it off has sent the wrong key, is there a way of making the ignition work with this key (i.e., remove the internals so that it would just need a flat piece of metal)? 5. How do you remove the fuel filler cap? (I don't have a key for the original but I do have a race cap) 6. Are there any cheap and effective mods for this bike (like the TPS mod or tre mod for the SV)? I ask question 2 as the guy I bought it off fitted a non HISS loom to it and this loom has a sensor plug on it and he's unsure whether it was meant to have one on there originally! This is all for now, though I will probably have more questions for ya soon. Regards |

Cheers G. Mine ticks over at about 1600-1700 rpm which seems a little high. It has a non-HISS loom, ecu and ignition so there's no need to get around it at all, just need to remove the internals but wasn't sure if it could be done.
Where does the lambda sensor mount? I take it it's on the exhaust? Mine is running quite rich which, I suspects, is due to the lack of lambda sensor. e-mail address on it's way via pm. Do ya have the workshop manuals on disc that I could procure from you? Thanks for your help so far G. Regards |

Managed to get a Haynes manual as well as find a service manual on-line. Still interested in the file you have so I will try to bring my laptop along to the track day G.

Re the tickover speed, on a track some people increase the tickover to reduce engine braking.

Don't really notice the engine braking on it compared to the sv, but thanks for the info YC.
