Just about to go out for a quick drink and bite to eat with the other half, first time for ages.
.....and a bl00dy cat ran out in front of us, she slams on the anchors and the cat escapes scott free. Us on the other hand not so lucky, why would we be the rest of the year so far has been cack. "The car is pulling bit Kev!" "pull over and I'll take a look" It must've been pulling more than a little bit there was not a breath of air in the tyre!!! Quite a hole in the tyre too, coincidental puncture? or caused by the aggresive breaking? Anyway as it is a front tyre and a front wheel drive car - do I need two really or will I be ok with just one? There is a credit crunch on but the safety of my wife and kids is far more important than my overdraft. So what's it to be 1 or 2? I keep thinking rthings can't get any worse, but they seem to find a way too. |

Whack one on and you'll be OK. If you worried about wear etc, swap the rears to the front at the same time, and put the new tyre on the back.

Won't have an effect on the car handling/steering etc?

I'd get one, but only if the tyre on the other side has plenty of life in it. If the other tyre is low I'd replace as a pair.

+1 You haven't mentioned what kind of condition the other tyre(s) are in. Unless it's fairly good I'd probably go with 2. But...... the thing to do is..... Look at all 4 and see how many you really need. (or have a mechanic you trust have a look) If one let you down chances are the rest may be in poor condition as well.

put the back ones on the front and a new one on the rear,,, should affect the handling so bad... maybe?
If not one will be fine |

A new tyre on the front won't affect the handling. Just replace the one.
Try blackcircles.co.uk they are fantastic.

Sorry mate, i think you'll need 4 tyres, the tracking done, oh and your exhaust system is a bit rusty, so that'll need changing, and we wont know about you brakes until we have the wheels off. We'll also check the suspension as well while we're at it. It could be most of the day! |
