Default Recovery firms and insurance firms do you have a good one?

Its that time of year again to renew my recovery. I am currently with NCI and i had a very bad experience with them last year when i got stranded in central london with a snapped clutch cable. I even went and purchased the cable ready for them and six hours later i gave up and walked for 30 mins in my bike gear and went home on the train. to say i was angry would be the understatement of the year!. so i got the phone call today asking me to renew today and a letter in the post yesterday so i told them where to poke it.so im wondering who do you people on here use and please share good and bad experiences and what price you pay. im also looking at renewing my bike insurance so may look to get both done or included as a bundle deal and the best quote i have had is £117 fully comp with bennetts with 3 years no claims but this doesnt include recovery.

For recovery, the AA has always been amazing to me for both my car and bike...once when I didn't use the bike for several weeks and had the alarm enabled...it drained the battery. Called the AA and they arrived within 30 mins to jump start my bike.

and don't go with the AA for recovery. they will only recover a breakdown and not if the the bike is in an RTA

Does anyone know if the cover you get with carol nash covers for breakdown and accident recovery or just breakdown?

Carol Nash may be a little higher in price but they do have recovery both home ad abroad in their package. I got stranded with electrical issues last year, fair I had to wait 3 hrs for someone to come, but the guy was great when he got to me. He had a special bike van, and I asked if you always got one. He told me yes, some companies don't use specific bike recovery firms. I also found out the poor guy had just come on shift and he'd come over from Sheffield to pick me up, so it was forgiven for how long it took to come out.

Use this site to find a rough price (or use them to find the chapest, I did). http://www.tescocompare.com/motoring.shtml Will find the best you'll get!

http://www.simplyinsurance.uk.com/ turned out to be the cheapest for me. I can vouch for the break down working (thats an extra like, but then it will be for most) as I needed to use it after my chain snapped . They were still £200 cheaper than anyone else just FC with all extra's...

Oh and as said, stay clear of bennets! They are awful... MCE were ok, Motorcycle direct were very good for me!

Good Luck
