Idle Banter For non SV and non bike related chat (and the odd bit of humour - but if any post isn't suitable it'll get deleted real quick).![]() |

Just thought I'd post this up in the idle banter section, to say that after my first DIY oil change, chain adjustment, and air filter change + getting a rear Avon Viper Sport fitted - the bike is purring like a kitten today.
It most certainly running better, sounds smoother and I feel good about having saved myself some money by doing it all my self - apart from the rear tyre replacement. Just bedding the tyre in for the recommended 100 miles as advised by the tyre centre...unsure as to what this does, but will go along with it. It's amazing how quickly 8 hrs goes by when your enjoying yourself ![]() Tomorrow she' getting a wash & polish. |

They always advise to bed in a tyre for 100 miles, and to be honest I´ve always found it best to do so, other people may have different opinions.
Glad that you´ve sorted it all out of the way ready for the good weather ![]() |

I see...well I best slow it down a little then. Not many miles left to do before the ton up...although todays weather has been a pig, with a few heart in mouth moments touching slippery drain covers in the road.
All part of the biking experience I suppose. ![]() |

the ton is a rule of thumb don't dive straight in there at 101 miles (Or I wouldn't anyway).

I normally give a new set of tyres a good two laps before giving it the berries

Buckley tyres told me 200 miles , I added the word that rhymes with Rollox in my head and just took it easy and eased them in slowly , now I feel quite happy to get a wriggle on

The shiny stuff on new tires is the stuff they use to get the tyre out of the mould, it's nothing to do with how it looks.
