Default Qatar MotoGP - result heavy

Getting ready for the start.
Looks like Stoner is doing well...gotta say he is the top banana.
Rossi not far behind.
Edwards having a usual good early run.
Mika Kallio is having a good early outing.
Pedrosa is nowhere.
Hayden is not there...yet.

Let us see what happens with Toseland. I would wager that he throws it at the scenery. DNF for me.

+1 on Mikka - he;s gonna be a dark horse! Always been very fast, and he has that stereotype cool finn head on him - echo's of Hakkinen, Makkinen et al from the 4-wheel world

Casey is soo fast its almost unbelievable; but then, he always is fast at qatar. His riding style suits the place, the ducati works well there (at least, in the hands of casey...). Rossi was visibally working hard to even sniff casey's time. Did anyone catch the shot of JT braking into turn one, and his brake disc's glowing? Fantastic! I think he may not do so well though - he'll stay on, but I think he wont be in the top ten.

Good to see colin edwards up there, but I fear he'll just use it as more ammo to fire off about how happy he is with the current situation at the tech 3 team. Seriously Colin, your a great guy...but frikkin' get over it! Seems like the only person he is trying to convince is himself.

Gibernau; i dont think he'll last the race distance, and even if he does, he'll get lapped so easily. When was the last time we saw anyone lapped in the top-flight class?

Roll on qualy...

Ouch Nicky. My advice would be not to fall off next time.

Casey is fast as expected - but will Rossi climb into his head like last year and upset his rhythm?

We can but hope...

Qualifying order was 125, motogp, 250.

Not that it really helps now. Sorry.

Great qualifying session; somestimes, they end up beign more exciting than the race - and if casey's times are anything to go by, the race might be bland tonight!

Hayden will be hurting when he wakes up (if he ever got to sleep...that was a biiiig thud from that highside!). He dosn't look comfy on the bike, lots of nervous twitching and sort of 50 pence cornering method going on...

Looking forward to it!!

Maybe Hayden is already thinking...hmmm...must get a new ride for next year...

It says plenty when Stoner is doin fast laps for fun and all Hayden can do is launch himself. I really do hope that Nicky can salvage a bit of hope if he is fit enough to race today. But he is said to be doubtful.

A real shame.

Mika Kallio is plodding nice so it seems Ducati do have an instant replacement.

JT was 13th and a full second behind Edwards...and you need a diary to work out how far he is behind Stoner.

Says on Crash.net that Hayden has been transferred to hospital with back pains.

Doubtful that he will race in my opinion.
